LIVANINGO is a Mozambican non-governmental organization that is concerned with the social well-being of communities and defending the environment created in 1998. It works in areas linked to solid waste management, natural resource management, climate change and has developed actions in almost all provinces. Within the scope of the partnership created between Livaningo and ADRA Germany, the “SOWI” project (Strengthening participation in the social and economic life of marginalized population groups in the province of Nampula, Mozambique”) was developed to be implemented in the districts of Ribaue and Mogovolas over a period of 3 years. The initiative aims to reduce food insecurity and social inequality through income generation measures and the establishment of secure livelihoods in Nampula province. In addition to investments, especially in professional training and financial support for the creation of small businesses, specific training measures are carried out in the areas of sustainable agricultural methods (agroecology), healthy nutrition, as well as financial management and financial literacy.
